Sep 4th, Labor day party

We spent the afternoon at Alex's buddy's house in LI. Their yard was a complete paradise for the kids. They were entertained the whole time. That was a great treat for Mommy and Daddy.

Beautiful Sep 1st day, Lake Hessian

After lots of house related scrambling around this week (not fun), we decided to take a ride upstate to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, most of the state parks and lakes were closed due to damage caused by the hurricane this past weekend.

So, we drove a little more north and found a great place! The Bear Mountain Inn. (http://www.visitbearmountain.com/)
The Inn itself (restaurant, restrooms, zoo, pool, carousel) was closed b/c they still didn't have running water. But there was a beautiful lake with a quaint path around it. So, there were lots of ducks to feed and stones to throw, which is what the kids spent the majority of their time doing. And there was also a great playground with a bunch of picnic tables surrounding it.
Next time, we plan to hike one of the many trails there.
We will definitely be going back soon! Oh, did I mention it only took us 45 mins to get home?

Facebook is taking me down...

It has been months since I have posted anything here. I have become too accustomed to posting albums to Facebook and neglecting the blog. I will do my best to change that.

I will not try to make up for the "lost" 3 months, I will just move forward..

So, here we have some pictures from our buddy, Dashiel's, 1st Bday party yesterday. The kids love going there (our friends Jennifer and Evan) to play. They have 2 small dogs, cool toys and even a trampoline.. and of course great company!
