Diaper Bag (beware: sarcastic post)

Introducing our Skip Hop - Duo Double Deluxe Edition Tote Diaper Bag:




It was a difficult decision, considering I have NOTHING to compare it to. So, let's hope it finds a place in our family. :-)








Apparently, it is made especially for "double the kids". So, it is rather LARGE.

Let's take a look at some other views of this extraordinary bag (as I try to convince myself that this bag will single-handedly help organize my life and make me a GREAT Mommy that's got it all together all the time).

The Nursery is not quite complete yet, but very close. Alex's parents recently ripped up the old rug and had the hardwood floors refinished. Also, they repainted the room. 2 of the walls are a pale green and the other 2 are an eggshell color with a dark green border at the top. It is very nice, cheery and subtle.

Obviously, a crib is still missing. We need to find one that matches the one in there. The new one will be placed where the bassinet is now. For it to fit, the dresser will have to be moved back towards the door.
























Believe it or not, both this dresser and the one in the following picture are almost full with clothes!




We will remove the books from the standing bookshelf (below) and I will use it to store all the diapers, diapers and some more diapers.. Oh and also the baby wipes, powder, butt cream etc..

This was Valentine's Day. I am not thrilled with this picture.. but didn't want to annoy the waiter and the other patrons to keep taking pictures until I am satisfied :-)

24 weeks!

"How your baby's growing this week:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
In the past few weeks, the top of your uterus has risen above your belly button and is now about the size of a soccer ball."

Aliens...ahh! :-)

I have to proudly report that as of approximately one week ago, I can officially feel the "guys" bouncing around and "fighting" in there.
This is how I picture it:

I have felt varying degrees of fluttering for months but this is the real thing now. Alex was able to feel it as well. And if I am quick enough to lift my shirt in time.. I can also see movement. Quite cool!

I was surprised that it took this long to feel it. I figured with twins and the lack of space.. But as it turns out one of the placentas is anterior and has been acting as a quasi-pillow between the uterus and stomach wall.

So, there we have it.. another milestone. :-)

It's starting to feel real..

Over the last several months, we have received numerous, amazing offers of baby paraphernalia from dear friends and family.

But yesterday was the first day that we physically brought home some of these generous "donations" of baby things, and quite unexpectedly too.
Alex called me in the middle of the day to tell me that one of the Dr's offered to give us some baby things. Since he had some time, he drove over and picked up these wonderful items. Attached below are pictures of the 2 play yards. From this lady, we also received some beautiful good-as-new outifts, receiving blankets, newborn onesies, swaddles and rattles.


























Coincidentally, also yesterday, one of the pharmaceutical reps that visits my office frequently, brought in a bunch of their baby clothing for us (that he offered the week before). He and his wife have 4 month old identical twin girls (and a 2 1/2 year old) and they could not wait to get rid of this stuff to free up some space. The AMOUNT of clothes was unbelievable! And considering they have 2 girls, I would say 70% of the stuff is gender neutral. So, perfect for us.

It took me 5 hours to sort through everything. And it is all in immaculate condition. Boy, was that soooo much fun! Everything is soooo darn cute! I drove Alex nuts with all my OOOh's and AAhh's. I did finally catch his attention with a newborn pink onesie that had a METS logo on it :-).













As far as clothes for the first 3-4 months is concerned, I think it is safe to say that we are set. Wow!

I may need a T-shirt!

Today, a lady asked me if I was due soon.... BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT I WAS 9 MONTHS PREGNANT!!

So, to avoid potential future comments, I am thinking of wearing a T-shirt with either of the following messages printed on it... what do you think? :-))

23 week appointment

.. and everything looked great. "Perfect" according to the sonographer.

The "guys" were very active, as usual, so the sonographer was not able to take good profile pictures. I will review them later and see if they are even worth posting.

I am officially 22 weeks and 6 days today. The "guys' " dimensions were:

Baby A - 1.3 lbs, measured 23 weeks and 2 days;
Baby B - 1.3 lbs, measured 23 weeks and 1 day.

My weight gain to date is approx.: 25 lbs. My OB said that my weight gain has been very good.
